Hello from The Hive Los Angeles!

With this as our first blog, it seems relevant to introduce the team from The Hive, your neighborhood hair shop;

Lissa - Los Angeles' Best Bargain Stylist of 2008, Los Angeles Magazine, leads the team as an experienced LA stylist with background in a high profile salon setting (Duarte Salon) and the fast paced, cheap cuts, Rudy's barbershop. Leadership and skills training at the Bumble and Bumble university in Manhattan, NY, topped with her unique stylish cuts, knowledgeable trends, and true interests in fashion, Lissa brings The Hive its charisma, aesthetic, and pulse. More info in person and online; Lissa Renn

Charles - As a bilingual businessperson and international traveler, Charles has experienced lifestyles, arts, cultures, and methods of commerce that benefit the Silver Lake location of The Hive. He has managed within a Fortune 500 company, volunteered to teach English in South America, traveled many countries, and earned his BA independently. Charles believes this history prepares his business venture with a worldly view on structure, community, and prosperity. In the success of his first business, Charles looks to develop The Hive into a international community.

Jeremy - A senior stylist and national actor, Jeremy brings timeless knowledge to an original shop. Having freelanced and worked in Los Angeles and New York has created a well rounded approach to his styling techniques. In Los Angeles, Jeremy has worked at various shops; Rudy's and Fur, to name a couple. After working with The Hive only a few weeks its evident that Jeremy's style fits dynamically into the communal space.

Liz - Working to promote her own business venture, Satsang Lounge, a eclectic theatrical variety show, and now taking clients at The Hive, Liz keeps a full schedule of events. Hailing from Martha's Vineyard, learning her styling trade in Manhattan, and now living in Echo Park, Liz shares her style and attitude towards hair styling with The Hive. Liz has provided freelance styling to Los Angeles for 6 years, working in music, fashion, and video. When not selling peanuts or beverages at her dramatic shows, she's cutting, coloring, and styling at Micheltorena and Sunset.

Lori - Vidal Sassoon is not where Lori started her styling conquest, just only where she learned the etiquette. Having a family of internationally known fine artists, she focused her studies to nursing. An eventual lack of passion in nursing returned her to artistry, hair styling her true interest. Following her family blood talent, Lori has established her skill as a stylist over the last two years by maintaining a demanding client list. The #1 salon in the South Bay has welcomed her talents, and now moving her talents to The Hive provides her with a platform to reach new heights.

Sam - Webmaster and digital designer, Sam is the man behind the scenes, on his Mac, creating the visuals the world rests it eyes upon. As an up and coming designer, Sam has shown how to create a brand image to reflect the style anticipated by the client, here being The Hive. Confirming his creative intelligence has been the acceptance, compliments, and often astonished remarks received from the public at The Hive's design work. The extent to his expertise lay not only with website, logo, word marks, branding, but also in the musical world as DJ. Sam has talents available to the masses, so find him at The Hive.

Concluding our introduction, we want to welcome all to our Opening Party on the 13 of December, starting at 7pm; art, music, drinks, good people.

Also, we are always looking for artists to promote; music, print, paint, vocal, etc..
