Silver Lake Neighorbood Council Arts & Culture Committee presents FREE Swing Dancing Lessons @ the Hive!
Bring yourself and a friend to learn a new dance move or two, or just join in the fun. Taught by US Open and National Jitterbug Championship placeholder, Desiree Abeyta. This months dance lesson will feature Lindy Hop and Swing.
Tuesday October 13th @ 7:00am - 9:00pm
The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council Arts & Culture Committee is hosting a potluck open to those interested in building a community altar for Day of the Dead in Silver Lake and discussing a free local Music Festival. Please bring Day of the Dead supplies, or refreshments.
Material you can bring for the altar:
Calaveras (paper mache), Sugar skulls, Bread (Pan Dulce), Candles ( Large glass in Red, White ), Paper Picado, Incense (Siete Poderes / 7 Powers ), Charcoal w/ Powder Incense, Flowers (Orange Chrysanthemums), Paper Flowers, Photos (memorabilia), Trinkets, Oranges
The event is being held at Project Lacuna at 3320 Sunset Blvd. Please email arts@silverlakenc.org if you plan on bringing supplies!
And last but not least!! Halloween @ the Hive!
