On Sunday May 18th we had our first day time art show, My Summer Vacation the art of the youth of Silver Lake. It was a very special afternoon filled with music, art and fun. Special guests from the Silver Lake Conservatory, The Outlines and Wolf Country entertained all of us with cover songs including The Black Keys and The Strokes. Our sweet treats were provided by Bakers Can Be Choosers, an upstarting vegan gluten free baking company started by our stylist Katie Sveinnson. New friends to The Hive La, Van Leeuwen Artisanal Ice Cream shared the afternoon with us and provided delicious natural ice cream.

We invited our closest local schools to donate one of a kind art pieces so we could have a fundraiser to benefit their art and music programs. Each piece is $20 and available to purchase until mid August. King Middle School, Micheltorena Elementary and the kids from the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic created wonderful pieces in form of self portraits, poetry and stories.

It was such a lovely and fun afternoon and we feel privileged to have spent some quality time with our neighbors and community. Come by the shop anytime now through August to see this awesome show.
